News Watch: Tiger On Prowl Triggers Panic In Balasore Village by Kalahandi Info February 13, 2021 written by Kalahandi Info February 13, 2021 0 comment 209 views Share 0FacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappEmail Balasore: Panic prevailed at Tipisigadia village in Balasore district after a tiger was spotted roaming near Bakreswar temple on the bank of Kansabansa River recently. Reportedly, a few villagers spotted the big cat wandering on the river bank early on Wednesday morning and recorded the visual on their cell phones. As the news of the presence of tiger in the nearby forest broke, it triggered panic among the people. They suspect the tiger ventured near the residential areas in search of food. The frightened locals informed the forest department officials about the incident. Subsequently, Oupada Forest Ranger Babita Soren along with deputy ranger and other officials visited the place and conduct a search to find out the whereabouts of the tiger. “All necessary steps are being taken to trace the animal. We will guard the forest and CCTV cameras will also be installed if necessary” said ranger Babita Soren. However, the forest officials suspect that the animal spotted near the village might be a leopard, not tiger. “Even though several visuals have been captured of the animal walking across the forest, it is not clear enough to confirm that it was a tiger,” the forest ranger added.
