The firm operates a world-class alumina refinery plant at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district in Odisha. Vedanta’s vision is to strengthen the Lanjigarh unit as a self-sustained manufacturing unit displaying the highest standards of operational excellence and efficiency. The Lanjigarh unit even boasts of a gender-diverse employee base. Almost 20% of its employees are women. This is substantially more than the 5% average of the manufacturing sector.
Recently, Vedanta Aluminium has become the highest ever producer of the metal in India with 1.95 MT of production and Vedanta’s Lanjigarh unit has been instrumental in making this happen.
