Introduction

Siddhi Vinayak Temple is a very famous temple which is well-known everywhere. This temple is located in the city Mumbai, Maharshtra. This was a very old temple  built almost two centuries ago. This can also be told as one of the most well known temples which are ancient. This temple is devoted to Lord Ganesh  who is being worshipped by a large number of people everyday.

Commonly every Tuesday a very huge crowd can be seen in the temple who go there  to offer their prayers and get blessed by him. More than 25,000 people visit the temple everyday approximately who get blessings from Lord Ganesh having offered their prayers. The most important day for doing puja and having darshan of the God is Tuesday which is being followed by all devotees. It is an excellent master piece designed with uniquity.

Construction and Specialities

The design which was done for this Siddhi Vinayak Temple is really attractive and appreciable. A single black stone was used which is 2 feet tall  on which the idol of Lord Ganesh is sculpted in this temple. The figures of Goddess Riddhi and Goddess Siddhi are mounted on the both sides of the idol Ganesh.

This temple has a small hall which is also known as Mandapam in which the idol of Lord ganesh is placed. This idol is under the shelter named Gabhara which has a width of ten feet. The beauty is enhanced by the roof inside the Gabhara which is gold-plated. There are eight images of Lord Ganesh on the wooden doors of the temple which are carved very perfectly.

On these wooden doors intricate designs can also be observed. An area of 2,550 sq. meters is covered by the temple complex. The admiration of the Lord Ganesh structure and the divine architecture of the temple can be done by anyone surely who visits this sacred temple.

Things to be done

There are many various stalls in a street names “Phool Gali”. Siddhi Vinayak Temple is led by this street. Many materials and other puja accessories like coconuts. Fresh flowers and sweets can be bought by the devotees in this way to the temple which can be offered to the Lord. 

The performance of Aartis inside the temple is done especially on Tuesday which is considered to be special and auspicious day for the devotees of Lord Ganesha. Many special events will be held within the temple during the time of “Sankashti Chaturthi” and “Angaraki”. In this time a large number of devotees give their part in these special events.

How to Reach and Exact Location

Dadar railway station is the nearest one to this Siddhi Vinayak Temple.

Local trains can be boarded Lower Parel, Mahalaxmi and Elphinstone road to reach the temple.

This temple is located in Prabhadevi Locality to which many buses are also available and taxis or auto-rickshaws  can be hired easily.
