Kalahandi: A poacher was killed after being shot by another poacher at Raiduni village under Kesinga police limits in Kalahandi district.
Thought the incident took place on September 9, the matter came to light after the family members of the deceased, identified as Raju Majhi, lodged a complaint with police in this regard.
According to reports, Raju along with some other villagers had gone for hunting to a forest near his village. During this, Raju had sustained bullet injuries after being shot by one of his mates.
As a result, Raju died on the spot. The fellow poachers cremated his body in the forest.
However, the family members of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police after getting information about the tragic incident.
Based on the plaint, Kesinga police has detained 8 persons in this connection and seized 2 country-made pistols from them.
