The Vigilance police on Wednesday caught Kalahandi district’s Narla Revenue Inspector (RI) Rakesh Roshan Sahu and Peon Shyam Sundar Bag red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 7,000.
They were caught taking bribe in the office from complainant Bharat Chandra Nayak of Kilbeda village under the Narla police station to settle detection of a sand loaded tractor of the complainant at Sahu’s level.
Sahu’s house at Pastikudi village in the district was searched. Both the accused persons were arrested and forwarded to court.
Similarly, Gajapati district’s Chhelagada Revenue Circle RI Chintamani Panigrahi was caught taking bribe of Rs 1,000 from complainant Bikram Raita of Anjarba village in the district to submit enquiry report for issue of residence, caste and income certificate in favour of the complainant. His residential Government quarter at Chhelagada and house at Old Brahmapur was searched.
