Introduction

This is s majestic temple dedicated to Radha Krishna.

Also known as Shri Radha Parthasarathy Temple, it is one among the 40 temples made by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

 It is located at Sant nagar east of Kailash in South Delhi, near Lotus Temple.

 A tourist enthusiast can reach this temple by local buses , auto-rikshaws  or hire taxis from the city.

History

This beautiful temple in the name of Radha Krishna was initiated by Acharya Bhakti Vedanta Swamy Prabhu Pada.

 Though it had its original name as Shri Radha Parthasarathy Temple, it attracted public attention by the name of ISKCON Temple.

 Built in 1998, this temple has various features to attract tourists from far and wide.

Appealing Appearance

This huge temple stands in a vast area of the Hare Krishna hill.

 Having a heavenly look inside and a majestic appearance from outside, this temple gives an awesome view to the touristic eyes.

The Striking Features

It has three tall spires (Shikhars) which shine brightly in the night.  A flight of steps lead to the main shrine.

 These steps have various halts. They lead to other destinations of the temple complex.

The mystic beauty of the temple is added by the variety of shops on either side and the cool fountains.

What we say as the main shrine is a big hall where three shrines are located under the three spires.

 These three are dedicated to Radha Krishna , Sita Ram and Guara –nitar.

The sculptural attraction and the radiance of the dressing and jewellery of these idols give a celestial look to them.

The constant chanting of Hare Rama Hare Krishna gives a spiritual upliftment of the devotees, added to the lectures , keerthans and discourses on Krishna Consciousness.

Pictures Displayed

Behind these shrines , there is a compound (Parikrama) where pictures of ISKCON Temples throughout the world are displayed.

Paintings by Russian painters on the life history of Radha Krishna are also exhibited.

A special attraction is the image of Garuda, constructed outside the Shrine. Here  the devotees can be seen chanting the mahamantra of Hare Krishna Society.

One of the largest temple complexes in India , it has many rooms for the priest and other service renders and many halls pertaining to administration.

How to Reach and Exact Location

One can reach Delhi by air from anywhere of the country.

Delhi also can be reached by rail and road from anywhere of the country.

After reaching the city every one can reach here by catching local buses and also can hire taxis or auto- rickshaws from anywhere throughout the city.
