Introduction

Situated on a seven high fun acre hillock , this temple at the west of Bangalore, Chord road, the Iskcon (International society for Krishna consciousness) attracts around 8,000 to 10,000 devotees daily.

Saturdays and Sundays shoot up this number to 15,000.

History

This exquisite temple of beauty, built on the Hare Krishna hill, has a neo-classical style.

 It was built to honour the birth centenary of Sri Prabhupada , the founder of ISKCON.

The Architectural Glory

This temple has an exclusive blend of glass and Gopuram, modern and traditional south Indian temple architecture.

The glazed glass canopy which connects the four gopurams is a thrill to the eyes.

The deity was installed with a magnificient ceremony in the month of April 1997.

The Shri Radha Krishna Chandra temple and Shri Chaitanya mahaprabhu cultural complex was inaugurated by the former president of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma on may 31^st , 1997.

The Akshaya Patra- feeding programme sponsored by the temple is well-known.

The continuous chanting of Hare Rama, Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Hare Rama gives the visitor a heavenly bliss.

The Time of Festivity

Sri Krishna Janmashtami, pulls a huge crowd of devotees till midnight.

The deities have a heavenly bath in milk, honey, curds and fruit juice. This Abhishekam is Very famous.

Then follows the showering of the colourful flowers and then the Maha Mangalarati at midnight.

How to Reach and Exact Location

One can reach Bangalore by air from anywhere of the country.

Bangalore also can be reached by rail and road from anywhere of the country. After reaching the city every one can reach here by catching local buses and also can hire taxis or auto- rickshaws from anywhere throughout the city.
