Kalahandi: Police on Friday busted a fake currency racket at Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district and arrested two persons in this connection. The identity of the accused persons are yet to be ascertained.
Sources said, cops nabbed the duo from for a weekly market after a trader discovered the notes given by the duo to be counterfeit and immediately informed the local police.
Fake currency worth Rs 17000 was also seized from their possession.
According to police, the duo used to make colour photocopies of the currency and circulate it at a weekly market in the locality.
A case has been registered under relevant Sections of the IPC. The accused will be produced before court today, a police official said adding, efforts are on to nab others involved in the racket.
