Cholera spreads in Kalahandi’s Chaparia village; 20 affected

Bhubaneswar: As many as 20 persons are now suffering from cholera in Chaparia village under Golamunda block of Kalahandi distirct.

According to information, the water-borne disease spread in Chapria village is due to consumption of contaminated water. Of the 20 affected, six people have been admitted in the Chaparia Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Meanwhile, a medical team from Bhawanipatna has reached the village to take stock of the situation.

It may be noted that around four persons had died of cholera in Kalyansingpur block area of Rayagada district as of now. Panic still grips some villages in the district.
