Bhubaneswar: In Two days at least 14 persons killed and several others injured as lightning struck in various parts of Odisha.
Saturday, six persons reported to be killed by lightning in Ganjam District.
According to the official sources, the deceased were identified as Bula Sethi (38) of Anantei village (Kukudakhandi tehsil), Raju Das (50) of Dayapalli (Hinjili tehsil), Rama Nayak (56) of Samapalli (Sorada tehsil), Suresh Rout (13) of M Champeitapur (Kabisurya Nagara), Surendra Sethi (42) and Subodha Khaike (35) of Naudiustha village (Sanakhemundi tehsil).
On Sunday afternoon, at least eight persons killed by Lightning in Kalahandi, Kandhmal, Balasore and Bolangir district.
According to the information, a father-daughter duo were killed because of lightning strike in Bhatakhamara village under Narla block of Kalahandi district. Besides, while another man died in that village, his wife has been grievously injured.
In a similar incident, another two deaths were reported from Ghantipada village of Kandhamal district.
Two more lost their lives and one was seriously injured in Jaleswar block of Balasore district after being struck by lightning.
another death by lightning was reported from Baguda village under Patnagarh block of Bolangir district.
